Hong Kong Professional Winds

香港專業管樂團是由葉惠康博士2013年11月最新成立的管樂團，旨在向廣大市民，特別是本地青少年，介紹和推廣管樂音樂，給青少年、學生一個管樂吹奏和演奏活動的示範。進行教育性的演奏是讓香港觀眾多認識管樂的威力和溫柔的不同方面，從而感受管樂音樂之美，加深大眾對古典音樂中的傳統管樂文化的認識。樂團指揮及成員皆為活躍於本地樂壇的資深和知名管樂樂手，同時為本地音樂學院及海外歸來的專業音樂人士提供一個演奏平台，組織管樂專才有較定期的演出計劃，在葉惠康博士的帶領下希望成為本地第一個專業性的管樂團體，讓香港管樂音樂發展走上職業的平台，為香港音樂事業發展作出更大的貢獻。

The Hong Kong Professional Winds is a newly established orchestra created by Dr. Yip Wai Hong to promote brass and winds music. Members of the orchestra and its conductors are all well-known and sought-after musicians in Hong Kong who have studied in conservatories here or abroad. Dr. Yip hopes that the orchestra will develop for them a formidable platform on which they can present performances and demonstrations regularly. HKPW will introduce and educate the general public of the versatility of these brilliant yet lyrical instruments, allowing a wide audience to recognize its history, musical styles and characteristics. Simultaneously, local youth and music students will benefit when they hear great repertoire from this genre of Classical music.
