王應淳出生於香港,畢業於拔萃男書院,四歲開始學習音樂,九歲考入香港演藝學院修讀少年音樂課程,主修鋼琴、巴松管、作曲及電子音樂。他現時在香港演藝學院主修鋼琴學士課程,師隨鍵盤系主任郭嘉特教授。2019年,他獲得了香港賽馬會慈善信託基金頒發之四年全費學士獎學金。

他曾贏得了多個獎項,包括歷屆香港校際音樂節,第十七屆東京亞洲蕭邦國際鋼琴比賽銀獎,日本石川縣國際鋼琴比賽高級組金獎以及兩個特別評審獎項及2021 HKGNA國際音樂比賽的大獎。2018年,獲邀於第六屆深圳鋼琴音樂節「京滬深港澳台專業院校獲獎學生音樂會」以及於東京Hakuju Hall的日本石川縣國際鋼琴比賽之優勝者音樂會中演出。他亦曾在不同音樂節演奏,包括薩爾茨堡莫扎特大學國際夏令音樂節及維也納音樂與表演藝術大學國際夏令音樂節,並接受不同教授的指導,包括 Boris Berman,Christopher Elton,Robert Levin,Arnulf von Arnim ,Angela Cheng,Graham Scott,Vanessa Latarche,Ronan O’hora,Dina Parakhina以及 Andreas Frölich。他曾以鋼琴家之身份與不同樂團合作,如香港管弦樂團,泛亞交響樂團以及演藝交響樂團。2021年,獲邀參與由香港電台第四台及香港演藝學院合辦的「貝多芬鋼琴奏鳴曲全集」,與多位本地知名鋼琴家同台演出。2022年,與演藝學院交響樂團合作,在香港特別行政區成立25週年音樂會演出貝多芬的《合唱幻想曲》,由香港電台第四台直播。

作曲方面,他於2013年開始在演藝學院修讀作曲及電子音樂課程,師隨伍巧兒老師。他曾在香港校際音樂節公開作曲組別以《五行》一曲獲得冠軍。他的作品D’Urban獲得了美國TI:ME電子音樂作曲比賽的金獎。除鋼琴外,他亦熱衷於電子琴演奏。他曾代表香港以自己的作品參與2010、14及16年分別在台灣、馬來西亞及香港舉辦的Yamaha亞太電子琴大賽,更在2016年以即興演奏及作品《Skyline》獲得了高級組總冠軍。

Hong Kong-born pianist Anson Wong graduated from the Diocesan Boys’ School and had been a student at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) since nine, majoring in piano, bassoon and composition. He is now pursuing a bachelor's degree in piano at the HKAPA with Prof. Gabriel Kwok, with a full scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships.

He has won numerous prizes in the annual Hong Kong School Music Festivals, the Silver prize of the 17th Chopin International Piano Competition in Asia (Tokyo), the Gold Prize Award and two special jury prizes in the Ishikawa International Piano Competition, and the HKGNA International Music Competition 2021 Grand Prize. He had performed in various festivals including the 6th Shenzhen Piano Music Festival in 2018, the Gala Concert of the Ishikawa International Piano Competition in Tokyo, the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg, and the International Summer Academy by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in Reichenau an der Rax. He had also been coached by Boris Berman, Christopher Elton, Robert Levin, Angela Cheng, Graham Scott, Arnulf von Arnim, Vanessa Latarche, Ronan O’hora, Dina Parakhina, and Andreas Frölich. He had collaborated with numerous orchestras including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra and the Academy Symphony Orchestra of the HKAPA. In 2021, he was invited to perform alongside distinguished teachers and colleagues in the ‘Beethoven 32’ Project organised jointly by the RTHK and the HKAPA, and in 2022, he performed the Beethoven Choral Fantasy with the Academy Symphony Orchestra of the HKAPA in the 25th Anniversary Celebration Concert of the HKSAR, which both were recorded and broadcasted on the RTHK.

Apart from being an able pianist, he is also an accomplished composer. He has studied composition at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts since 2013 with Ms. Poly Ng. In 2017, he won the first prize of the 69th Hong Kong School Music Festival Open class Composition Category with the piece ‘The 5 Elements’. In 2018, he was awarded the Gold standard composition winner in the notation category of the TI:ME Electronic Music Composition Contest in the United States with his composition ‘D’Urban’. His abilities in composition is also showcased in his participation in the 2010, 2014 and 2016 Yamaha Asia Pacific Electone Festival held in Taiwan, Malaysia and Macau respectively, in which he composed and performed his compositions himself. In the 2016 season, he was awarded the Grand Prix of the Senior Section, championing in improvisation, performance and composition.
